Afghanistan

Challenge

This is a region where girls face more barriers to education than anywhere else in the world. Since the Taliban returned in 2021, the law remains the biggest barroer, as nearly 1.5 million girls and women 12 years old and above are forbidden to receive any type of schooling.

Solution

Partnering with Razia’s Ray of Hope, we are providing uniforms to all of the girls attending their Zabuli Education Center. We hope our uniforms help to ensure as many girls as possible receive as much schooling as they can, as educating girls in Afghanistan is imperative to building a more equal and prosperous society.

Afghanistan is the only country in the world that forbids girls and women from receiving secondary and higher education. Approximately 1.4 million girls ages 12 and above are being denied education.
